After being a Nokia fan for close to 4 years and after 3 handsets I switched to Sony Ericsson recently. Not that I was dissatisfied with Nokia (I still remain a Nokia fan), I just wanted to try something different. And the switch did not come so easily. I had to pay 19k for that.
It all started with a small desire - somewhere in some corner of my heart - to own a camera phone. So I started conducting a survey among my friends, giving my requirements (basically, a phone using which I can take pictures) and my constraints (basically, my pay), and most of the feedback I received pointed to only one phone - Sony Ericsson 750i.
After doing a bit of research myself, I found it pretty good. Check out http://www.sonyericsson.com/k750/ and http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-k750-en.shtml. This is just not the phone which every auto driver or conductor will be carrying in his pocket. Of course, if that is the case, buying such a phone would create a big hole in the pocket carrying the purse. After careful consideration (it can also be called confusion), I decided to go for it.
As I have mentioned earlier, it did cost me a lot. But the features are truly amazing. The 2 Megapix camera has excellent clarity. I use the phone nowadays more as a camera than as a device to keep in touch (I will upload some sample pix once I find time). But there are many features which I don't use mainly because I don't understand them. It always happens - any device seems to have some functionality which you don't use or use it once in a million days. Anyway I am happy with the phone so far. But I am still not a Sony Ericsson fan - that switch will take some time.
