Finding old friends

Some people are fortunate enough to complete their schooling in a single school and have friends for life. I studied in various schools across Tamil Nadu. It was the time where there no mobile phones, we hadn't heard of Internet (obviously Facebook was a distant dream) and scrapbook used to be made of paper. Not the kind of person to keep in touch with people, I lost track of all my schoolmates in no time.

Surprisingly I have been able to get back in touch with some of them through Orkut. Yeah, I still have an Orkut account and Facebook hasn't helped me in this aspect. Last week, I reconnected with my 7th standard classmate. I saw her name in the Groups for the school alumni and instantly remembered her as she was the only Punjabi girl in the whole class. Surprisingly she also remembers me. What makes this all the more surprising are the facts that the school does not exist anymore and we studied in 7th standard 20 years back. I also reconnected with some of my classmates from 8th to 10th standard. I am not sure what will be the reaction if I were to meet them face to face. Waiting for an alumni get-together to find out.
