Everyone dreams. Though not every dream is as revolutionary as Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream, it is still a dream. Some are worth pursuing and some are worth forgetting. Some come true and some don't. But we all dream.
Man has been blessed with intelligence far more superior than any other living thing. This has helped man to take complete control of Earth and beyond. But it has also made man think about things which are not under our control. Like dreams. And ask questions about them which we can never answer. Why do we dream? How do we dream? Do they have meaning? Each individual has his own answer to these questions. My answer - Dreams are reliving old experiences (good or bad) or living through experiences which we want to happen in the future. Life is full of experiences. We dream because we live.
I had my own set of dreams. Dreams of zipping past town in a super-fast car. Dreams of being a very very rich guy. Dreams of owning a big bungalow. Dreams of standing under the Eiffel tower and saying 'Welcome to Paris'. And a lot lot more. Most of them are still dreams floating around in the wonderful space of my imagination. But some have come true and have become part of my beautiful experiences.
One of the dreams which has come true is visiting Paris. Though I exactly didn't say the words 'Welcome to Paris', standing below the Eiffel Tower was itself a great experience. But then, you don't get to do everything you dream. But sometimes, you get to do things you never dreamt of. My trip to Paris was a mix of both.
Sometimes, we do get dreams where something really bad happens to us or the people whom you love so much. But then they are not dreams. They are nightmares. And I wish that none of our nightmares come true in our lives.
So, fasten your seat belts and go on a journey to Neverland, where you are the boss and you define what others should do and what others should look like. Beat Tiger Woods in a game of golf, clean bowl Sachin or walk the red carpet at the Oscars. Dream on...
